We
opened Village Ski and Sports in the fall of 1988
(snowboarding was just emerging and was still considered the
Dark Side). Our shop was small, but what we lacked
in space we made up for in service. At the time, Village Ski
& Sports was a year-round specialty store carrying an eclectic
mixture of equipment and apparel. At some point in our first
twelve years, we carried beach wear, sail boards, water skis,
running shoes, soccer and baseball equipment, tennis and racquetball
equipment, and lots and lots of T-shirts.
In
2000 we grew large enough, thanks to our loyal customers, to build
our own building and on New Years Eve, 2000, with the help
of friends and dedicated employees, we moved into our new location.
On January 2nd, 2001 we reopened for the rest of the season as
Village Ski & Snowboard (the name change reflecting the surge
in snowboarding interest).
We
now stay open for only the ski/snowboard season, specializing
in just those sports. Service remains a top priority. Our Junior
programs are well known and taken advantage of by more and more
customers every year. We believe one of the best indicators of
a good retailer is how far customers will travel for your goods
and services. We are always pleased to see customers traveling
to our store from as far away as Cape Cod to the south and Marlboro
to the north.
We
look forward to many more years of servicing our customers
ski and snowboard needs.
Thank
you for your loyal support of our store.
