How To Choose - Rocker Technology

The newest advancement in skis and snowboards is rocker technology or reverse camber. Snowboarding introduced rocker a few years ago to make turning easier. Ski companies weren't far behind. Rockered skis (which I'll discuss here....but the same holds true for boards) come in a variety of flavors. Some of the names you will hear are V-Rocker, catch-free rocker, full rocker, all terrain rocker, and the list goes on. The bottom line is, you need to know how much rocker a ski has and how different amounts of reverse camber will effect the ride. A fully rockered ski is best suited for powder while a ski with camber under foot and a slightly turned up tip is best suited for the varied conditions we get here in the East. Contrary to what some "experts" may say, a ski with a limited amount of tip rocker will hold like a hockey skate in the Stanley Cup on our Eastern conditions plus make turn initiation easier.....now who wouldn't like that!

Make no mistake about it, however, choosing the right ski/board for you're specific needs is more important the ever. Yes, you can pick a ski, possibly because of graphics or price, and find it basically unskiable on the conditions you ski on. We ski and ride the equipment we sell and can help make your decision a good one.
