Skis and boards are tuned with a 1 degree base bevel and a 1/2 degree side edge bevel. This gives your ski or board easy turning characteristics and precise edge hold without being over “edgie”. For sharper edge needs, we can vary the side bevel to meet your specific needs. A belt finish yields a smooth base that is fine for slower skiing but not great at breaking the suction that is created under your ski when skiing at faster speeds. A stone finish leaves a fine structure in the base (similar to the treads on your car’s tires) that channels the fine layer of water under your skis that is created from friction towards the back, breaking the suction that tries to grab your skis and slow you down. We finish your board or skis with a layer of paste wax, buffed into the finish, yielding a fast, easy-glide surface.

Types of Tunes:

Snowboard - $26.00 - Snowboards get a belt finish due to their inherent lack of flatness. Burton boards come from the factory with a belt finish.

Basic Tune - $22.00 - A belt finish. Suited for most junior skis and first level adult skis. No deep base repair.

Standard Tune - $26.00 - A stone finish. All high end skis come with a stone finish from the factory. No deep base repair.

Ultra Tune - $34.00 - A stone finish with full deep base repair.
