This past year's trip was attended by a record 78 people.  What fun to see 78 people smiling for two days straight!  In past years Friday was the pick of the weekend for those lucky enough to skip work and come up early.  Not so this year.  We woke-up Saturday to 4 - 6 inches of fresh powder, (which fell AFTER the trails were groomed to Sugarloaf perfection corduroy), and bright sunshine.  The early birds got fresh tracks on pure fluff.  Even the folks who occasionally get caught up in powder loved these conditions.  The temps hung around 40 so the snow stayed dry up on the mountain.  The bumps were also in near perfect condition.  The winds kicked up in the afternoon which isn't always a bad thing at Sugarloaf.  By Sunday morning, the sun was shinning again and the over-night winds blew a ton of snow to the left side of the mountain (King Pine) and we skied in boot-high drifts of light snow down the left side of the trails.  The temps rose a bit to around 50 at the base and the smiles grew even bigger.

The Saturday night party was a real treat.  As always, VSS bought the first round of drinks.  Everyone shared their stories of the day.  The best being Kathy Gooley's tale of her mistaken trip down the back snowfields!!!  Our Sugarloaf contact and friend Jarrod saw to it that the hors d'oeuvres were tasty and plentiful.

This year's trip converted more then a few first-timers to the "Sugarloafer since 2008" club!!!!
